So be sure to check out this video to learn everything you need to know about Long Beach!   1 Many well-known musicians have called Long Beach home at some point including Snoop Dogg, Sublime, and Beyonce Knowles! 2. The Port of Long Beach is the second busiest port in the United States.3. . Long Beach is home to the Queen Mary, a retired ocean liner that now serves as a hotel and museum.4. California State University Long Beach is located here and boasts over 37,000 students making it one o the largest universities in all of Southern California! They have a great basketball and baseball program and one time did have a football team. But as of now. You cannot watch them compete on Saturday. Due to the program being disbanded in 19915. The first ever McDonald’s location with a drive-thru opened in Long Beach back in 1975. Now there are numerous restaurants all throughout the city and has been a big part of the community.6. Long Beach is home to the Aquarium of the Pacific, one of the largest aquariums in the country. And one of my favorites. I've personally been to a lot of aquariums throughout the US and the aquarium of the pacific is up there with being one of the best.7. Every summer since 1949, a Grand Prix race has taken place on the streets of downtown Long Beach. And let me tell you, it is something you must experience one time in your life. The energy the people, the race. It’s a great event and something I think everyone can enjoy.8. Naples Island is a man-made island community located in Long Beach's Alamitos Bay. And it’s a place with beautiful homes. One of my favorite things to do is paddle board or kayaking around the island. They also do a great job putting up Christmas lights in the holidays. Something you have to check out if you’re around during Christmas time.9. Oil was discovered in Long Beach back in 1921
 and there’s still some being pumped today! Yes, driving around the city you will see places where they still pump oil. Its pretty surreal. Its not something you see a lot in southern California.10.  Long Beach has over 3,400 acres of parks! One of my favorite things about the city. There are many places for adults and kids to play and exercise.11. In 2002,.Long Beach was ranked as “ America’s Most Diverse City ” by Time Magazine!  I think that’s one of the things people do think about Long Beach. The diverse culture and people.12. Shoreline Village is a popular tourist destination featuring shopping, dining, and entertainment options along the waterfront. Shorline is a place a lot of people that don’t live in Long Beach visit. But one of my favorite places to eat is Parkers light house and which is located there and a place you have to try at least once.13. The Belmont Shore neighborhood is known for its lively nightlife scene, great restaurants and cool places to shop. If you like to watch sports, check out Legends sports bar. If you looking for good food check out Nicks, Saint and second & open sesame. And if you are looking for cool bars, check out Dogz, Panama Joes or Shannon’s bay shore.14. Downtown Long Beach features high-rise apartments and lofts, trendy restaurants, and clubs and bars catering to all tastes. Pine Street is a great place to live if you like a lot of action and things to do. Lots of places are in walking distance and there is always something to do on Pine street.15 Bixby Knolls is home to artist studios, independent businesses, and vintage shops. Defietnly a nice to to live.  Its historic neighborhood on the northeast side of Long Beach, California. Most of the homes are older, but also one of the most desired places to live in Long Beach.16 The city has over 6,000 acres of parks and beachfront - that's almost 10% of its total area! Long beach is a great place to kayak, paddle borad or kite surf. The only con is that there is not any waves in Long Beach. So if you’re ok with that. Long Beach is a fun place to hang out.17 Long Beach is the seventh most populous city in the state of California. And the population is growing. Its one of the only cities that had a population growth over the last year.18 Long Beach was originally founded in 1888 as Willmore City - it was renamed Long Beach in 1924. And this is something that not many people talk about so I’d be surprised if you guys knew that.19. Long Beach Airport (LGB) is known for being one of the quietest major airports in Southern California. And one of my favorite places to fly out of. I traveled to a lot of places in the US and I still think is the easiest, most convenient airport to fly out of.Long Beach is a unique and fascinating city with something to offer to everyone who lives here.
